Bacterial Contamination – Justin G. (’28)

This project aims to discover what is the safest method of meat thawing. This experiment tested seven different methods: Refrigeration, Microwave, Air Thawing, Hot Water, Cold Water, Brining, and Vinegar. The data for this study is based on the bacterial growth of the aforementioned samples on agar plates. Three main data sets are collected using this raw data: Number of Colony Forming Units (CFU), Area of Bacterial Growth, and Area of Mould Growth. The conclusion of this experiment strongly states that thawing with vinegar is the safest method of meat thawing.
